Praying the Scriptures For Your Adult Children {Review}

Praying the Scriptures for Your Adult Children: Trusting God with the Ones You Love
Being the mom to a 25 and 21 year old, I could not wait to get my hands on this book. I definitely see this book as being one that sits on your shelf and you pull it out when you need it, more of a resource guide. It is not a book to just sit and leisurely read and then get rid of. There were chapters that I skipped, because they did not pertain to my children at the moment, but knowing I have this great resource when I need it, is amazing. I actually put it on my bookshelf at work, since I work at a church, and know there will be times when I will be able to show other parents particular chapters and perhaps walk them through it.

This is a tiny, compact book and would be a great gift!

I was given a copy of this book to review from Handlebar Marketing. All opinions are 100% mine!

The Chalk Man {Review}

January 1, 2018

It has been awhile since I have read a really well written suspense novel. The Chalk Man was just that! Set in England in the 1980's, as well as current day, the author, C.J. Tudor does a wonderful job of taking us back to the summer of 1986 and the drama that unfolded, while allowing us to see what is happening present day, without missing a beat!

Each day when I had to put the book down, I could not wait to have time to be able to pick it up again and continue along the journey to find out w...

Faithful Finance {Review}

Image result for faithful finance

I have to admit, when I first picked up this book I thought it was going to be a Dave Ramsey want to be book. Although I have never read a complete Dave Ramsey book, I have visited his website and know what his philosophy is and his steps towards saving money.  So yes, I was skeptical.

But Emily Stroud, got my attention right away! I loved that she lets you know she cares more about you spiritually, but she has been blessed with the ability to assist others with their financial lives and wants...

Perennials {Review}

Perennials (ebook)

Before you assume this is a book about gardening, let me assure you it is a wonderful novel by Julie Cantrell. I had heard her name before, but this was the first book I have read by her. Is it ok to admit that I picked it because I like flowers and the cover was pretty? Well, I did!

So, when I first started it I was a little worried. I am a pretty basic type of gal, and the book was very descriptive, giving you lots of details, but at the beginning I was side tracked by all the extra words. L...

Fire on the Track {Review}

December 8, 2017
Image result for fire on the track

I get so geeked out with true stories so when I came across Fire on the Track, I could not wait to learn about the first women Olympians, in particular those that entered track and field events. The author, Roseanne Montillo, did such a good job of letting us into the lives of these ladies, giving such details of events and surroundings that you felt like it happened yesterday, not in the 1920's. The book covers 3 Summer Olympics and the ladies that participated. If you like to learn about hi...

How to Fix a Broken Record {Review}

November 27, 2017
How to Fix a Broken Record

To tell the truth, I decided to read this book because the title caught my attention. I loved the idea of having an inspiration book that could also be fun! I had not heard of Amena Brown before, but this is not her first book. How to Fix a Broken Record was such an amazing read! Amena is so honest in sharing her life with us and then connecting the dots and allowing these things to be life lessons, not just for her, but for us too!

If you love music and could use a little inspiration, I would...

Truth Doesn't Have a Side

Truth Doesn't Have a Side

This is not the type of book I normally read, and I still cannot say why I chose it, but I am so glad I did! Truth Doesn't Have a Side is the story of Dr. Bennet Omalu. He is the doctor who first discovered CTE in NFL players. What I love about the book is that it does not start off with stats and science, but instead we get to know Dr. Omalu. How we grew up in Nigeria, how he got to be a doctor in the U.S. We get to learn more about his personality and then he introduces us to the faithful d...

In the Middle of The Mess {Review}

October 24, 2017
Product Details
I was so thrilled to see that Sheila Walsh had a new book. I have seen her speak a few times at Women of Faith conferences in the past and always find her relevant and so open and honest.

In her latest book In the Middle of the Mess, she shares with the readers her journey after the death of her mother. She has a way of being able to tell her story but have it be used to help others. I so enjoyed the inspiration I found in her words and the bible versus she chose to share.

This book will be r...

Evicted - Poverty And Profit in The American City {Review}

Image result for evicted

When I saw Evicted, I felt compelled to read it. The topic is one that intrigued me and I felt like I wanted to know more. I had never read a book that was piece of ethnography. I found the book very compelling and educational. To see the true struggles of people that have been evicted and how the system really makes it more difficult, rather than a help, was very eye opening. The next day at work we had a homeless lady come in and I found myself better able to relate to her plight, I felt li...

The Awakening of HK Derryberry (Review)

September 28, 2017
The Awakening of HK Derryberry: My Unlikely Friendship with the Boy Who Remembers Everything

I must admit, just from the title of this book, I was a little skeptical. What would it be like, what did they mean by awakening. Well, let me say this book is so heart warming and written with suck an ease. I loved getting to know HK and truly understand his awakening and what it meant. Learning more about the story of HK, a now young man who was born blind and with cerebral palsy, makes you think of people with disabilities in a new way.

I would recommend this book to everyone!

I was given a ...
